Sexual Assault Awareness Month Keynote from Lydia X.Z. Brown on Disability, Survivorship, and Transformative Justice
We will wrap up SAAM 2021 with keynote speaker Lydia X.Z. Brown. A writer, educator, community organizer, activist and attorney, Lydia will speak on how transformative justice can lead to harm-free communities. Lydia’s work centers the intersections of disability, queerness, race, gender, class, nation, and migration. Together, we will explore how and why restorative and transformative justice work can move us into a lived reality of a community and society free of harm. This keynote is open to all students, faculty, and staff. This event is co-sponsored by the Office of Equity and AccessibleNU. Participants are welcome to join by phone or video. ASL interpretation and CART captioning will be provided for this event. Additional accommodations such as presentation materials in alternate formats are provided upon request.
